About
First Baptist Church of Franklin is one of the oldest churches in Franklin, IN, having been established in 1832 as an offshoot of the Blue River Baptist Church. In 1841 the title to the land, at what is now the corner of Home Ave. and Jefferson St., was acquired and the Sanctuary was built on it. Later, in the 1920s, the Education building was added. Due to upkeep and a lack of need for all of that space, so the congregation decided to leave this location and we held our last service here in August 2019. We moved our Sunday services to Richardson Chapel on the campus of Franklin College, on the northeast corner of the campus at Monroe and N. Forsythe St. We also moved our offices to the 2nd Missionary Baptist Church Annex at 400 W Madison.
We continue to worship in Richardson Chapel, on the campus of Franklin College each Sunday at 10:00 am. We are also continuing to stream our service each week on ZOOM for those unable to attend.
If you would like to be added to our virtual Zoom meetings or get information on what we are studying each Thursday, please contact our Church Moderator, Mark Friend, or leave a message on the office answering machine (317) 292-8318, or via email at franklinfbcoffice@gmail.com.
