Back to school is here! August is here, and we are closer to the end of the year 2026.

August is a time for enjoying the outdoors and still preparing for the Fall season. As a congregation, we look forward to meeting on Sunday, Aust 9th at Connie Webb’s farm to worship and then have a pitch-in luncheon. This is also Sundae Sunday, so there will be ice cream and all of the toppings to enjoy for dessert.

Rev. Bartley will be gone on the first Sunday and last Sunday of August. Dr. Rev. Mark Hetrick will be preaching on the first Sunday, and Mark Friend will be preaching on the last Sunday. Landi Newcomb will be joining us on Aug. 9th to discuss her ministry at Valparaso University. Our next Leadership Board meeting will be held on Sunday, Aug. 23rd after coffee fellowship time, and we will be welcoming students back on campus before the end of the month. So, August will be a full month, as it seems every month is in the life of our church.

We did collect school items for Fast Track in July and made a very large donation to them to help needy kids start school with the supplies they need. These items included backpacks, glue sticks, pencils, paper, and erasers. As usual, our small congregation stepped up and made a big contribution to families in our community.

We continue to worship each week in Richardson Chapel on the campus of Franklin College at 10:00 a.m., and all are welcome to join us. We also stream our service each week on Zoom and would like to encourage you to join us there, especially if you are unable to worship with us in person. We look forward to the change in seasons and the direction God has for us to witness to the students of Franklin College and the community of Franklin.
