Happy Fourth of July! We celebrate our country’s Independence on this day and remember all that we have endured to be the nation we are today.  July is also the month where we as a church start our process of looking for a new pastor.  We will hold two Listening Sessions to reflect on our past, Look at the present, and discuss the future of Franklin First Baptist Church.  This is the second step in the journey to decide what our needs are and establish a basis for the Pulpit Committee to look for a new person to lead us.

We will have our annual service, and picnic, in the park on July 21st in Blue Herron Park.  Rev. Hannah Ingram, chaplain at Franklin College will be with us to discuss the changes in college life now compared to when we were in college.  Also, Rev. Doug Gray will lead us in a bird walk after our Brown Bag lunch.  This all starts at our regular worship time of 10 a.m.

We did reach our goal of $500 in June for the One Great Hour of Sharing offering.

In July we are collecting school supplies for Fast Track.

Bible Study is in full swing and is now meeting every Thursday at the home of Rev. Dick and Macie Martin, 1112 E Adams St, at 3 p.m. With Rev. Bartley being on vacation there will not be any Bible Study on Thursday, June 13th, but will resume the following week.

We continue to worship in person at Richardson Chapel, and also on ZOOM, each Sunday at 10 a.m.  If you can’t join us and want to be with us by ZOOM, please email Mark Friend, our church Moderator, at the church’s email address, and the invitation link will be sent to you. We invite you to join us every Sunday as we praise God and worship together.

As we begin earnestly to take this journey to call a new pastor, we hope to continue to receive your support in your attendance each Sunday and in your prayers for all of us.
