September is here, and we are still experiencing a heat wave. All students, young and old, are back in the grind of attending classes and handling homework. Football is just around the corner, and we are looking forward to holiday time with friends and family.

Today, September 1, we were part of the meet and greet in front of Richardson Chapel for several churches in the Franklin area. This is always the signal of classes beginning and the hope that several students will take advantage of our service on campus.

We have begun an internship through the college in hopes of helping train future pastors for service. We have hired our first candidate, Liberty, aka. Libby Rivera, and she will start her duties this Sunday, September 6th. She will work closely with Rev. Bartley and Mark Friend, our church moderator, to learn the workings of church services and the business side of the church.

Rev. Bartley will return from vacation this Saturday and return to the pulpit on the 6th. We look forward to having him back and bringing our message to us each week.

We are collecting food items for the Interchurch Food Pantry in September that we will turn in at the Harvest Walk on the first Sunday of October.

We had an abundant crowd at church this past week as several college students came to worship with us. Hopefully this will be a trend this year, and we welcome them with open arms. With this said, we continue to worship each week in Richardson Chapel on the campus of Franklin College at 10:00 a.m., and all are welcome to join us. We also stream our service each week on Zoom and would like to encourage you to join us there, especially if you are unable to worship with us in person. If you would like the link to the service, feel free to email us at the church office, franklinfbcoffice@gmail.com, with your information, and you will be added to the invite list.

We look forward to the change in the atmosphere on the campus as the students begin their new journey in life.
